What a Mommy looks like......

Most days I don't get out of my PJs until noon. Most days I wear comfy clothes. Most days I smell like spit up. Most days I don't do my hair.
Some days I don't get a shower. Some days I don't get to eat until late afternoon. Some days I feel I'm going to fall asleep standing up.
but...
Everday I'm thankful for my blessing from God. My little angel! I love her and she is worth all the pain and hard work!
That is what a Mommy looks like!

Kinslee is 10 weeks today!!!

I can't believe my lil ladybug is already 10 weeks old!
She is doing great! We had our two month check up last week and she got three shots!! Poor baby screamed her head off and was fussy and feverish for a few days! It broke mommy's heart!
She now weighs 10lbs 2oz and is 23.75 inches tall!! She is growing even MORE hair (I can put her hair in pigtails) and is really cooing and smiling away! She has the cutest chubby cheeks! She is becoming her own little person! I am truly blessed!! :)
She is doing great traveling. This past weekend we went to a wedding (Joel's cousin Laura) and a BBQ. We may be traveling four hours to Winona this weekend for Father's day and in a couple months we will travel via Car to NC!!
Hopefully I will be better at updating this blog more often now that she is settling into a routine!
Love to all!!

She's Here!!!

Please disregard spelling and grammar..hahahaha...I"m a bit tired...
Kinslee Nanette was born on April 5 at 3:17pm weighing 6lbs 9oz and 20 1/2 inches long!
It was quite a journey for this little angel to arrive! I was induced on April 4th due to my blood pressures and swelling and my body did not react well to the induction. I was having constant contractions (very strong contractions) every minute with no break in between from 2:00 am until the time she was born the next day! The medication they used (both a cervix ripener and an IV medication called Pitocin) really caused my body to go into labor but I wasn't dilating like I should of been. The farthest I ever got was a 4!! The baby had a lot of dips and elevations in her heart rate and my epidural did not work (thats right I felt every contraction!) So after all that drama they decided to deliver via emergency c-section. It turned out to be a blessing in disguise because she was completely entangled in her cord...around her neck, torso and arm..My doctor said that she was playing Jump rope inside of me..hahhaha. A vaginal delivery could of been a very dangerous one. She had a little rough time getting jump started but once they administered oxygen and rubbed her, her apgar came up from 3, to a 9, then another 9!!
Now that she is here and I'm completely in love I can say it is all worth it, however I do feel "robbed" of the labor and delivery part! I'm still kind of in shock how everything progressed (or didn't progress) and I feel sad that most likely I will never be able to experience a natural delivery. I kind of felt like a failure that I wasn't able to do this on my own. I also felt like a completey different person going through all that pain, I screamed, groaned, cried, begged Joel to help me..(poor guy) but I guess looking back I feel pretty strong that I was able to carry on full blown contractions for that long with no pain relief. I also felt like I received excellent care but I also felt there was a lot of confliction regarding my treatment between my doctor and nurses/hospital staff...I don't think they see that sort of reaction very often...It was definately an experience.
But she is here!! She looks a lot like her Daddy and has a full head of hair!! I've been recovering from my c-section and enjoying getting to know my daughter. The pain and exhaustion is worth every minute I get to spend with her and I couldn't feel more blessed (Praise God!) Kinslee is doing well..she had her one week appointment yesterday, she has a clogged tear duct but other than that we are just working on plumping her up! hahaha..she lost some weight in the hospital which is normal and is currently breast feeding like a champ so I'm hoping to chub her up soon!! She is long and skinny like her daddy!!
It was nice having Grandma and Grandpa Brannan here (they left on tuesday morning) and now I'm on my own!! hahaha..I still can't believe I'm a Mommy to this beautiful little bundle of joy!!!!!!!
Stay tuned for more updates and pictures!!

Baby Shower
My sister in law, Jessica and a good friend of mine, Elaine hosted a very nice shower for me. I've posted some pictures. It was a wonderful time and we got a lot of nice stuff. We even played a few fun games including guess the candy bar in the diaper! Elaine made her famous cupcakes which were absolutely adorable and I even got a diaper cake! I feel so very blessed!!
